So what are the best places to visit in Cornwall? It really depends on your interests. If you’re a history buff then you will want to make sure you see all of the castles and historic buildings. For example, Bodmin Jail is filled with a lot of history including old prisoners that have been locked away. But it’s not just the jails that are full of history. One of my favorite buildings is Lanhydrock House. It was built by Sir John Tremayne in 1649 and has an extensive and beautiful period garden.

Land’s End

St Ives is located on the South West Coast Path, one of the country’s longest walking routes. St Ives is also home to the oldest golf course in Cornwall and offers great views of St Ives Bay. A short distance away, you can also enjoy a relaxing day by the seaside at Porthmeor beach, a stretch of fine golden sand that is perfect for swimming. If you have the time, you can also visit the stunning St Michael’s Mount.

Porthcurno Beach

It also once served as a terminus for the first submarine telegraph cables, which connected the UK with India.
